What I did on my vacation.

Last week I was on vacation. I did many things. And here they are, in pictures!

We went to Silver Dollar City with the family.

We bought a boat, and everyone enjoyed it.

Then we came back home, and I started on some home improvement. I painted walls yellow.

And I painted trim white (but only after I spent 3 hours sanding and chemically stripping it to try and re-stain it. I gave up and painted it.)

I made lots of progress on Noah's Ark. I sewed it all together and sewed in the zipper (as seen below). The ark unzips down the middle, and the animals go inside. A house gets velcroed on top, to hide the zipper. I've finished knitting the house, an elephant and a crocodile. I just need to stuff and sew them up. I hope to be posting more photos of that later.

My vacation was lovely. I've never taken a week off just to chill at my house before, but it was nice. I got a lot of baking, cooking, cleaning and remodeling projects done. Oh yes and the knitting.

AND NOW a tribute to Dirk's new boat!!!! First I'll show you Dirk's old boat. It is a 1953 LoneStar fiberglass boat, with the original motor and trailer. It was a gift from Pa Berry a few years ago, and it is very well loved, but not always reliable.

So Dirk worked lots of extra roofing jobs and earned the cash the pay for this beauty. I am so proud of him. :)

It's a 1991 BassCat. He found it online in Arkansas, about 30 minutes from Branson. He went and looked at it, fell in love and now it's ours. Tonight he took Sophie and I out in it. It's comfortably seats our little family and I can see lots of summer fun in it.

Sophie was terrified of it at first, but after lots of praise and re-assurance she felt better. By the end of our trip she was hopping all over it. Here she is, enjoying the speed.

And that, my friends, is the end.
