It's Noah's Ark!!!

I still have to put some trim around the door, and sew the feet onto the 2nd crocodile, oh yes and eyes on all the little guys. The house will have velcro strips on the bottom so it will velcro to the top of the ark, and cover the zipper. The little animals live inside.

I still need to make 2 monkeys, 2 snakes, 2 pigs, 2 lions, etc etc. The girls will get as many animals as I can finish before Christmas.
The animals are taking a while, mainly because there is a lot of sewing. I'm kind of re-writing the pattern to fit my style of knitting, I'd rather knit in the round. I hate seaming. But I've only got a these two suckers done for now. Too bad they can't see each other.

And this will give you an idea of the scale:

Now that I have the hard parts done I am enjoying this project. The ark itself stressed me out a bit, but the little animals knit up quick and are so cute when they are done. Laura will love this gift, and Lily will too hopefully, when she gets bigger. Laura saw me knitting the square toys a few months ago and asked, "Aunt Rachel are you making that for ME?" I told her no and she was disappointed... so I know she'll like this. My sister will love it too. I'm glad she doesn't have internet!!!

So cute! Jim and I were looking and thought it was cool, and then we saw you holding the elephant and realized it was MUCH bigger than we thought. Awesome!
