I need help figuring out what color to paint my dining room!

Dirk just announced that he hates purple. I wasn't going to do PURPLE purple, but a deep plum, but if he hates it... now I'm back to square one.
I want a wall of mirrors on the big wall across from the windows. I have a few old mirrors I've collected and cleaned up. I needs help!

I like the idea of a harvest color, like a rust or orange (not bright orange, obviously) or something. Then if you wanted to do the other walls in another, lighter color, you could do a neutral wheat color or something.
That is what some others have said too. Rust or a deep gold, but my kitchen will one day be gold, so I'll save that. I think tonight i'll just hang out in the paint store until I feel inspired.
